Frequently asked questions

Does my image get uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

What is the best image size for a Facebook post?

Facebook recommends 1200×630 px for shared links and at least 1080px wide for photo posts. A 16:9 landscape image (1200×675) or square (1080×1080) both look sharp in the feed.

Why does Facebook compress my images?

Facebook re-encodes all uploaded photos to reduce file size. To minimise compression artefacts, upload at the recommended dimensions (so Facebook doesn't need to resize) and use a high-quality JPEG.

Will resizing reduce my image quality?

Downscaling from a larger original is lossless visually. This tool exports at 95% JPEG quality, which is more than enough for Facebook. Start with the highest resolution original you have.
